Early career

I relocated to Scotland after completing a degree in Supply Chain Management in Nigeria.

Career journey

After moving to Scotland, I started working in support work and quickly fell in love with helping people. Supporting others and making a difference in their lives gave me a real sense of purpose and inspired me to build a career in health and social care.

I was fortunate to secure a role with NHS Highland working in a day service in Aviemore, where I had the opportunity to grow professionally and develop my skills and experience.

Current role

Recently, I was delighted to be successfully appointed as the Team Lead for the service in Aviemore. This is an exciting step in my career, and I am looking forward to taking on this new challenge.

Key reflections

Looking back, moving to Scotland opened up opportunities that I never expected. Working in support work helped me discover a career that I am passionate about and one that allows me to have a positive impact on people's lives every day.

Advice for others

Be open to new opportunities and trust the journey, even if it takes you in a different direction from the one you originally planned. I am excited to see where my career in the NHS takes me next.
