Inverness Hospital Radio

Since its creation in 1970, Inverness Hospital Radio has operated as a broadcasting service to hospital patients.

Its aim is to provide entertainment for patients in hospital and play requested music from friends and relatives of patients, as well as music requested by the patients themselves that are collected by a team of ward visitors. The service also promotes healthy life messages and signposts to a variety of information and support for health in the Highlands.

Inverness Hospital Radio is a Registered Charity in Scotland and operates on a voluntary not-for-profit basis. The studio is based at Raigmore Hospital.

It originally operated as a broadcasting service to patients in hospitals in Inverness, originally the Royal Northern Infirmary and latterly Raigmore Hospital. The station now offers an online streaming service to patients and public throughout the NHS Highland area:
