GP Walk-In Centre – Service Update Invergordon

12th June 2026

GP walk-in centres are being introduced in a number of locations across Scotland in phases. While some sites are already open, others – including Invergordon – are still in development. We are working hard to establish a GP walk-in centre but the service is not yet available.

Progress has been made in planning and developing the model including staffing and digital systems but, we have more to do before this service is up and running.

What this means for patients right now

How patients currently access care has not changed. Patients should continue to use existing services in the usual way, including contacting their GP practice, community pharmacy, NHS 24, or attending local services as appropriate.

We recognise the importance of timely access to care and are working to ensure that when the Walk-In centre is introduced, it will provide a safe and effective additional option for patients. In the meantime, all existing services remain in place to support you.

Jill Mitchell, Head of Primary Care for NHS Highland said: “Plans are progressing on the walk-in centre due to open in Invergordon. We are very sorry that it has not opened in May as we had originally planned. However, our project team is actively working through the necessary steps to move this forward.

“We remain committed to developing this service and will ensure the local population are kept up to date as it progresses.”
