Healthy Working Lives

Workplaces have a key role to play in improving our nation’s health and quality of life. The Healthy Working Lives Award, which integrates the Scotland’s Health at Work programme, includes thinking about how health and well being can be actively promoted in the workplace, such as supporting smoking cessation or healthy eating. It is also about ensuring that health is not adversely affected by work or workplace hazards, and providing access to advice and support for people who need it.   Finally, it also means thinking about how more work opportunities can be made available to people with disabilities or health problems. The Healthy Working Lives Award Programme is designed to support employers and employees to develop these themes in the workplace in a practical, logical and beneficial way.

NHS Highland is committed to a programme of improving workplace health through the Healthy Working Lives award programme. For more information on what is happening in your area or if you would like to find out more, please contact Susan Birse, Healthy Working Lives Adviser on 01463 704928.
