RNI Community HospitalServices
Community Hospital beds which are managed by the GPs working out of the Inverness Medical Practices.
The beds are utilised for those patients who require more intensive medical input than can be provided in their own home, but who do not require to be admitted to the DGH (Raigmore Hospital in Inverness).
In addition care is provided for patients who have been treated in the DGH, are ready for discharge, but who still require some form of medical support before returning to their own home.
Services include intense rehabilitation for patients provided by a team of healthcare professionals including:
- Doctors
- Nurses
- Physiotherapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Social Work Care Assessors/Managers
In addition to rehabilitation, the Hospital provides palliative care for those patients with a terminal illness who are no longer able to be treated at home.

Visiting Times2.00pm-5.00pm and 6.00pm-8.00pm
Reducing the risk of infections
Staff will display/provide information and advice about infections control
precautions such as how to care for personal laundry, hand hygiene, symptoms
and what to do if you have an infection. Please ask staff for advice
Alcohol hand hygiene gel for patient and visitor use is located near wash
basins and at the entrance to all wards and departments
Visitors with colds or recently in contact with infectious diseases please
postpone visiting
Always ask ward staff before visiting any patient in a single room
