About the Service
Raigmore anaesthetic department provides a comprehensive range of anaesthetic services to the patients of Raigmore hospital. Theatre work is carried out in the main theatre suite which has nine operating theatres and in the new maternity theatre. There is anaesthetic cover for all the surgical specialities in Raigmore hospital including: general surgery; orthopaedics; ENT; maxillofacial; gynaecology; ophthalmology and urology.
In addition there are regular trauma lists and around the clock provision for emergency theatre, and emergency anaesthesia throughout the hospital including accident and emergency. We also provide anaesthesia for dental and psychiatric cases at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness
