The successful candidate is Avril MacGregor. Avril is a very experienced nurse and brings with her particular skills in the areas of wound management and end of life care.
She is currently working in Ballachulish, but is hoping to move to West Ardnamurchan in the near future. NHS Highland will help her to find temporary accommodation more locally in the interim if that is required.
Clinical Services Manager, Clare Rumgay, said: “We are delighted to have been able to recruit someone of Avril’s calibre, experience and skill and are looking forward to working with her.
“I am especially pleased that Avril has indicated an interest in participating in the proposed Emergency Responder model, which will help to make this scheme successful and sustainable.”
She added: “Jessie has been a magnificent stalwart in the West Ardnamurchan community, often working way above and beyond the call of duty. She is much loved and respected and will be greatly missed in her role. We all wish her well for a long and happy retirement.”
