The Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 introduced an ethical framework to Scotland, the key elements of which are statutory Codes of Conduct for all public bodies and the establishment of the Standards Commission for Scotland.  The legislation confirmed the commitment of the Scottish Parliament to promote high standards in public life and ensure that ethical standards and probity are evident in devolved public bodies. 

NHS Highland, in accordance with this legislation, is required to have a Code of Conduct and a Register of Members Interests.
