A number of people may wish to make a donation to the hospital, ward or department as a thank you to staff for the care they have received during a stay in hospital, or during a course of treatment at the hospital or for the care given to a loved one.

The Highland Health Board Endowment Fund is a registered Scottish Charity and all donations to it are held in trust until used.  Please note these monies are separate and held individually from the money used to provide and run the day-to-day services of the NHS.

The Endowment Fund contains over 350 individual funds, mainly for Wards or Departments.

Over the years, many thousands of patients have benefited from the purchase of equipment, additional comforts and amenities - purchases which were only possible because someone made a gift to the Endowment Funds.

Making a Donation

It is possible to specify that a particular hospital, ward or Department benefits from your donation.  If we receive no instruction from yourself of who you wish to benefit from your donation it will be added to the General Endowment Fund for the benefit of patients and staff across the whole of NHS Highland.
