Last November, the Scottish Government allocated an extra £16 million to modernise wheelchair and seating services from 2008-2011. It will help fund the recommendations of Moving Forward, the national review of NHS wheelchair and seating services published in 2006.
A Draft Action Plan, outlining the modernisation process, was published by the Scottish Government and the views of people who use wheelchairs, their carers, providers of health and social care services and other stakeholders were sought. The consultation ended on Friday, 31st October 2008.
To support the national consultation, NHS Highland hosted a consultation event on 29th October, allowing service users, carers and voluntary organisations to consider and respond to the consultation. The outcome from these local discussions and an evaluation of the event are available below.
