Scottish Ambulance Patient Transport Service
If you are medically unfit to travel, you should contact the Scottish Ambulance Patient Transport Service.
Patients normally arrange their own transport to hospital but you may not feel fit enough to come to hospital by private or public transport. The Patient Transport Service may be able to arrange ambulance transport, if you meet the medical criteria for the ambulance service.
As you will appreciate, the use of an ambulance is not intended as a substitute for public transport.
