Community services events pop-up in Caithness

08th March 2024

NHS Highland is to host a series of community pop-up hubs within Caithness to highlight an array of community services available from a wealth of different organisations.

Visitors will have the opportunity to find out about community and health services, such as new frailty services, with the chance to try out some simple chair-based exercises designed to help prevent falls and support wellbeing.

NHS Highland staff will be on hand to provide advice about small aids and adaptions for the home to help people remain safe, healthy and independent.

Representatives from different community groups will also be present to provide information about services including housing, social security, cycling and many more. Refreshments will also be available.

The pop up hubs will take place:

  • Thursday 21 March, 10am to 2pm - Dunbeath Day Care
  • Thursday 16 May, 12pm to 4pm - Caithness House
  • Thursday 4 July, 10am to 2pm - Reay Village Hall
  • Thursday 12 September, 11am to 3pm - Canisbay Hall
  • Saturday 23 November, 10am to 2pm - British Legion Club, Thurso

Lesley Martin, Community Service Improvement Practitioner, NHS Highland said, “This is a great opportunity for people to access information on lots of different community services they may not be aware of all from one place, as well as enjoy a general chat over a coffee and cake.

“We’re grateful to all the organisations and funders who have made these events possible.”
