An inpatient unit of 5 beds (Monday to Friday only). Multi-professional assessment, treatment, monitoring and ongoing support of patients suffering from rheumatic disease. See Rheumatology.
General medicine
9 beds (24/7). Aiming to provide high quality, comprehensive service to patients who are primarily, but not exclusively, elderly. Patients may be admitted directly from home or transferred from Raigmore Hospital following a period of acute care, for active rehabilitation. Patients are cared for by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals comprising nurses, an advanced nurse practitioner, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language therapists, podiatrists and social workers.
Out of hours service
Patients in the Dingwall area phoning NHS24 may be asked to attend the doctor based at the Primary Care Emergency Centre in the hospital.
Allied Health Professionals (AHP) team
The team comprises physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and dieticians. They have an active role in the general ward and Highland Rheumatology Unit and also see outpatients.
Radiology facilities
These include X-ray, ultrasound and DXA scanner. The hospital is able to offer diagnostic facilities for both casualty and outpatient departments. The DXA scanner is a Highland-wide resource used in the diagnosis of osteoporosis.
