16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

On this page

25 November to 10 December 2025 - NHS Highland is proud to participate in this global campaign that calls for action to end violence and discrimination.

16 Days Of Activism

About the campaign

Gender-based violence (or violence against women and girls) includes domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, female genital mutilation, prostitution, child sexual abuse and many other forms of violence that predominately affect women and are most commonly perpetrated by men.

Violence against women and girls, and gender-based violence in all its forms, remains a significant challenge across society. As one of the largest employers in the region, we have a responsibility to lead by example and we are committed to creating a workplace and a community where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.

During these 16 days, and beyond, we will raise awareness, share resources, and encourage conversations that challenge harmful attitudes and promote equality.
