We are looking for volunteer candidates to become part of our Pharmacy Practices Committee (PPC).
Committee members play an important role in overseeing pharmaceutical services and significantly contribute to improving and further development of the services. We invite individuals who would be interested in helping to shape the services to apply.
PPCs are responsible for deciding on applications for new community pharmacies, which include new contracts, inclusion on the pharmaceutical list, as well as significant relocations of facilities.
They evaluate whether establishing a new pharmacy is "necessary or desirable" to ensure sufficient pharmaceutical services are available in a designated area which includes looking at neighbourhood boundaries, existing services, local pharmaceutical care plans, and feedback from public consultations.
Eleanor Rose, Community Pharmacy Business Manager, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with pharmaceutical services.
“Full training will be given to ensure new members are familiar with processes and procedures. You will also have access to guidance and won’t be required to participate in a hearing until you feel confident in the process.
“We’re happy to talk to those who have an interest and would like to know more about the role.”
