The Highland Health Board Endowment Fund Charity (SC016791) is pleased to announce investment of £60,000 for delivery of a Green Health Grants scheme for Badenoch and Strathspey.
The funding will support community-led activity that helps to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing through engagement with, and appreciation of, the natural environment.
The first phase of this funding is for small grants of £500 to £5000, to a maximum fund level of £25,000, with the deadline for applications being 27 February 2026 for delivery by 31 March 2027.
The second phase will be informed by a review of the first and is intended to be smaller numbers of larger grants.
This programme draws inspiration from Think Health Think Nature, the Highland Green Health Partnership’s work programme, which contributes to Our Natural Health Service, a national initiative led by NatureScot promoting the role of nature in supporting better health outcomes.
Advice seminars to assist organisations with understanding the priority areas of applications will be held at the end of January 2026. An in-person event in Kingussie (venue tbc) will be held on Wednesday 28 January, and two online events via Teams will be held on Tuesday 27 January from 14:00 to 15:00 and 18:00 to 19:00.
