NHS Highland seeks new Board members - live online information session

13th May 2025

NHS Highland is seeking new members for its Board. We are looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds who share our values and can bring a variety of views, particularly from those groups which are under-represented on our Board.

In particular, we are keen to hear from people who have experience in audit and risk management, or experience developing and implementing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. We also value knowledge of issues affecting ethnic minority communities and young people in relation to health and social care.

A live online information session will be held at 6pm on Monday 26 May 2025. Hear from our Chair about what is involved in being a Board member, and have the chance to ask your questions. We will share the link to the meeting in due course.

NHS Highland Chair Sarah Compton-Bishop said: “The NHS is one of the most valued institutions in the country and being able to help shape its future and provide assurance that it is working effectively, efficiently and in the best interest of our patients is a hugely rewarding job.

“We need a range of experience and views on our Board to reflect our population and I would encourage anyone who is passionate about health and care to apply, no matter how much or how little formal experience you may have. You’ll receive support and training if appointed, and I promise we are a friendly bunch! Do come along to the information session to learn more.”

Applications are open from 13 May to 2 June 2025 and you can apply via Scottish Government Public Appointments.
