Your Med Future - study medicine in Scotland
Explore your pathway to a career in medicine with Your Med Future.
Applying to medical school can be a daunting experience. Your Med Future, hosted on the NHS Scotland Careers website, is an exciting new resource aimed at supporting aspiring Scottish medical students. The hub, developed by the Enhancing Medical Attraction (EMA) team at NHS Education for Scotland, provides applicants with the information, confidence and encouragement they need to apply to one of the 5 medical schools in Scotland.
Your Med Future will help you discover everything you need to know about applying to a Scottish medical school, including:
- understanding the application and admissions process
- exploring your study options and how to make the most of medical school open days
- planning your application - including tips on personal statements, aptitude tests and interviews
- staying on track with key application deadlines, including the UCAS submission date in October
The hub is designed to provide information and advice to individual applicants and their career influencers by curating links to an accurate, informative set of reliable sources.
Are you in S5 or S6 in Scotland and considering a future in medicine? Please complete our survey (open until 14 November 2025) which aims to better understand applicant experiences and inform future outreach and support.
