Autism is a lifelong developmental condition sometimes referred to as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or autism spectrum condition (ASC). It affects people differently with some people living independent lives and others requiring more intensive support throughout their lifetime.
In 2011 "The Scottish Strategy for Autism" was launched by the Scottish Government.  The Highland Autism Strategy Group is responsible for ensuring that Highland develops local action plans to meet the outcomes of the Scottish strategy.
