Love Is - This policy sets out guidelines for all staff in Highland supporting adults with learning disabilities in non school settings who wish to develop personal relationships and/or to explore their sexuality.
For the purposes of this policy adults includes any person over the age of 16 and the definition of learning disability in "The Same As You?" has been adopted, which includes people with autistic spectrum disorders.
It has been developed by the Highland Learning Disabilities and Relationships Group following consultation with people with learning disabilities, carers and staff.
It has been supported by the Highland Council and NHS Highland Board and will apply to everyone involved in service provision to people with learning disabilities in Highland.

Highland Learning Disability Relationships Group is a Support and Advocacy group that supports Persons with Learning Disabilities in the Highlands.
