This guidance provides information about improving accessibility for all NHS Highland patients, carers, staff and all Highland communities making contact with NHS Highland.

It has been developed to ensure that NHS Highland staff have the knowledge and resources to provide sensitive services that recognise the needs of the individual. By working this way NHS Highland will be able to address inequalities and increase equality of access to services provided by NHS Highland to all members of our community.

NHS Highland and Highland Council policy

This policy and the associated guidance has been developed to help staff support Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse, particularly within health and social care settings. It includes information on what childhood sexual abuse is; what the indicators of childhood sexual abuse may be in adults; how to assess if people need to be referred to other services; and how NHS Highland and The Highland Councill will assist you in implementing this policy.
