Heather Sheerin, Vice Chair of NHS Highland Board, and former nurse, says:
“It is people who make that wonderful extra difference to the way we feel as
patients and carers. We receive thousands of letters each year from patients
and family members, who wish to express their heartfelt thanks to staff for the
special care they have received. It means a lot to our staff when someone
takes the time to write in and say what it means to them.”
Heather went on to say. “You can now show your appreciation of someone who has made that difference to you, by nominating them for one of our Staff
Awards.”
Ray Stewart, Employee Director, added:
“Sharing success recognises individuals and benefits the whole organisation.
We want to recognise those who have achieved highly and say “well done - we
value you!” and the Staff Award Scheme is one way of doing this.
“The scheme is open to either individuals or teams from any part of the
organisation, working in the front line of patient care or working behind the
scenes to support the delivery of care. It is an opportunity for colleagues,
patients, carers and members of the public to show how they value an
individual or a team who has made an impact on them. ”
