NHS Highland has been alerted to an increase in the number of cases of diarrhoea and vomiting in the community as well as cases within two of our hospitals. This increase in cases is being reflected elsewhere in the country.

NHS Highland’s Chief Executive has apologised to a patient who made a complaint about the treatment they received from the Health Board last year.

The case was referred to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman’s Office for detailed investigation. NHS Highland has now received the Ombudsman’s Report which has made a number of recommendations.
