Improving Patients’ Experiences in Acute Hospital Care

As part of a national initiative, “the unscheduled care collaborative” Boards across Scotland have been reviewing a wide range of working systems which affect patients attending A&E departments.
The overall aim is to provide patients with a speedy initial assessment, so that each patient receives the right care within a target timescale of maximum four hours. This national report presents examples of changes introduced in hospitals across Scotland over the last three years.
