There have been no new cases since Friday 27th January. As of today Ward 4C has one patient confirmed with Clostridium difficile who still has symptoms, they are being looked after in isolation. The ward was reopened this morning.
Commenting on the situation, Dr Emma Watson, Lead Infection, Prevention, and Control doctor for NHS Highland, said: “We are continuing to monitor the situation very closely but by putting in place strict conditions about the care and movement of patients we have now been able to reopen the ward.
“Staff across the hospital have been working hard to manage this outbreak and my thanks go to them for their continued support.
“I would like to reiterate that the risks to healthy patients, visitors and staff are minimal.”
One of the original patients with Clostridium difficile, who was considered well enough to be discharged from Raigmore Hospital to Belford Hospital in Fort William, remains in the Lochaber Hospital. They have mild symptoms and are being cared for separately to other patients.
