Double Money for Special Care Baby Unit

31/01/2006   |  Argyll & Bute; Mid Highland; North Highland; South East Highland

The Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and the Birnie Centre, both at Raigmore Hospital will each receive £469 thanks to the generosity of family and friends of the late Phyllis Cook, and, as a bonus, BP are going to double the amount given.

Both SCBU and the Birnie Centre mean a lot to the family, Margo Howatson, a Bank Nurse at Raigmore Hospital, explains:

“My youngest son Dominic (9) was born nine weeks early and spent some time in SCBU, he also has cerebral palsy so we have also spent time at the Birnie Centre. The decision to have donations at the funeral going towards both SCBU and the Birnie Centre was an easy one to make, Dominic’s grandfather works for BP and they have kindly offered to double the donation made which is just fantastic.”
