Stroke pathway (Raigmore Hospital)

This Rapid Process Improvement Workshop took place on 25th- 29th November 2013 and is due to have a 90 day Report out on 28th February 2014. Updates will be reported on the following actions:

Aim - To deliver compliance with national stroke standards

Background/Summary
At the time of undertaking the work currently Raigmore Hospital was not consistently meeting time-based targets for stroke care, namely:

  • 90% to be admitted to the stroke unit (Ward 2A) by the end of the day following diagnosis of stroke
  • 100% of patients diagnosed with stroke have a swallow test
  • 80% to receive CT scan within 24 hours
